Microsoft Kin Ad: Edited Because of Sexting Message

The Microsoft Kin family of devices is aimed at promoting a dynamic, social networking experience. The compact Kin phone is mostly being marketed towards teenagers up to those in their late 20s. That being said, it would cause a big ruckus if Microsoft were to, say, feature a teenager taking a shot of his nipple and sending it to his girlfriend. And yet that is exactly what Microsoft did, which really caused a lot of eyebrows to rise. Compare Microsoft Kin mobile phone deals online.

The ad is mostly what you would expect from a social networking phone. People are partying, hanging out and talking with each other, all smiles. In the middle of the clip however, one guy who looks like he just got out of bed, sends a picture message to a girl containing the controversial picture. It does not look like it was outright dirty, but seeing that the target of the phone includes teenagers and young adults, featuring someone of a relatable age doing something nasty (yes, especially for the parents) is going to have people banging on Microsofts doors. The key word here is sexting and nobody wants to endorse that to the youth, considering that it is a prevalent problem when it comes to tech knowledgeable, sometimes unsupervised youth going through their puberty stage. You can usually find mobile phone free gifts deals when buying phones online.

Microsoft realized the issue they caused however and has since removed the controversial snippet out of its ad clip, but has retained the edited version in their official Kin website. This is what they have to say about the matter:

We have deleted the inappropriate portion of the Kin video. We take sexting very seriously and are sorry that it happened.
